Ahhhh…my favorite subject.
If you have not checked out Twitter and you are trying to earn money on the Internet then you need to seriously grab this ring before you are too far behind. That is not entirely, true. You will never be too far behind.
What I usually do and recommend is to search for a group to watch. I then add comments using the appropriate “#” tag so that it is focussed to all that are watching that subject. I then start folowing others in that group that appear to have intersting comments.
The goal here is not to follow people for the sake of following but rather to gain a level of trust. If you provide honest and free information then your follower will increase significantly. Remember, people on Tweeter can see thru trash talk so spamming is not a good thing. Free information is EVEN if it is not your information.
It will be a slow process but once you have a fair amount of followers then peole will see you more as an authority.
So how do you gain more followers?
I have a couple of different blogs and I proudly display my Tweeter icon and people actually click it from my blogs. There is not a day that goes by that I receive 10 notifications that others are following me. Some I will follow and others I will not due to a problem I will have with their profile page. Yes, I do look at other people’s profile page.
Now I have started sending status updates when I have a new post on my Blog. And yes, I get traffic to my sites when I do that. Think of it as soft selling. If they visit my site and like something then they will buy.
That is my Twitter Tactic.
