How to Build a List the Easy Way

by Buddy on February 3, 2010 · 0 comments

When I was a kid. The teacher did not allow students to chew gum, UNLESS we brought in enough for everyone. So that started my quest on pushing the limits of authority.

On the days that I brought bubble gum to school were the days that I was THE most popular kid in school.

The same might be possible about Lists.

So what could I possible provide (for Free mind you) that would entice someone to join my List?

Bubble Gum might do it for a few but shipping might get a bit expensive.

Freebies to Avoid
Someone else’s stuff. Why? Because you want to be the person that people come to for something. Not someone that is pointing to others. You are wasting your time if that is what you are doing.

Remember, we are building a list not selling something at this point. There is a time and place to point to others but this is not one of them.

I took a simple approach. I looked at all of my sites, my secret processes, my experimental information and then the ideas starting popping up left and right.

Letting Go
It was kind of hard for me because I had discovered a couple of advanced techniques that I wanted to sell. But reality finally kicked in. I had to consider a the ultimate question, “What was more important a few bucks or a huge list?”

Ultimately for me, this became my mantra. I learned through the school of hard knocks. No one helped me. I suffered for nearly a year and a half before I started making any money.

I still held back on some of my ideas because of their nature but I significantly lowered their price because I want them to be used and be accessible at an affordable price and not some over-inflated amount.

Just remember that there are compromises. For me, stepping away from being Greedy was the best thing I could have ever done. Plus I have the satisfaction of helping others.
