Simple title.
The reason is that I am throwing some SEO into the mix. If you remember my goal is to attain the number one spot for “Buddy” and the number to beat was 110,000,000 other sites. The last time i checked I was sitting at 562th postion out of 1,000 sites that Google felt were good enough.
Now my next attack will be targeting my last name; Shearer. Notice the link. Again, another SEO thing, and just a little backlink for my name.
My Competition
When I enter my last name into Google it shows that there are about 5,280,000 results. When I started search these results for my site in December 2009, my site buddyshearer.com was found on the 215th position. Much better than my keyword “buddy”. So after a month of doing this site build up and articles and links I checked again.
My last name has jumped to the 139th position. Not bad, and that is not having done a thing. The link above to my last name is the first link so in about a month we will see if I have jumped any.
In my previous post I said that I was competing again Buddy Holly and Buddy Rich. Well, for my last name I am competing against a food company and Harry Shearer.
I should be able to overtake Harry (no relation unless he is related to Norma Shearer who was a famous silent movie actress as I am distantly related to her). It will require some work and linking but I feel that I can beat him. Now Wikipedia might be a tough one but it may just be links race. We will see about that.
