Made for AdSense sites – Buddys Technical Perspective (Part 2)

How about giving me a Tweet?

In this part I am going to focus on just the middle piece of the Template; namely the Two or Three Column structure.

The first column will house the Monetization piece which for us is the AdSense code. Before you say that I missed something just hang on. I do not employ a menu system in the traditional sense but rather a Hybrid Bread-Crumb approach and that will be covered in a later article.

Just understand that I use either the 120×600 or the 160×600 Skyscraper formats inside my left column. I then blend the Ad colors to my website’s appearance. I rely heavily on a Heat map that Goggle shows on their site because it shows users tendencies in terms of clicking.

The right-most column I have recently started using for Banner ads from a few of the CPA sites that I am a member of. But that is it in terms of monetization.

Now the Center column I dedicate to Content
This is where most would save the template and then start replicating this page for content pages. But not me. Remember, I am into easy and speed.

I am going to chop the template into five distinct pieces.

  1. A Header
  2. My Left AdSense Column
  3. My Content Column
  4. My Right CPA Column
  5. My Footer

The reason I do this is simple. I want a modular site that will allow me to make changes easily. So if I change the header or footer then I change it in one place and it will be automatically applied to all pages. Rather than making the change in many web pages.
